LOYOLA FOR LEAF🌿

Peltophorum pterocarpum(Copper Pod), it is native to tropical southeastern Asia and a popular ornamental tree grown around the world.In Greek Peltophorum literally means "shield-bearing".

TREE DESCRIPTION:

Peltophorum Pterocarpum is commonly known as Copperpod and it is an ornamental tree. It is a deciduous tree growing to 15-25 m (rarely up to 50 m) tall.The fruit is a pod 5-10 cm long and 2.5 cm broad, red at first, ripening black and containing one to four seeds.Peltophorum Pterocarpum requires full sun and moderate watering.These plants can tolerate moderate levels of salt in the soil.

USES:

1. The wood is used locally for light construction purposes, cabinet making. Used as a fodder, in Apiculture, fuelwood. The bark contains tannins.
2. In traditional medicine it is used as an astringent to cure or relieve intestinal disorders after pain at childbirth, sprains, bruises and swelling or as a lotion for eye troubles, muscular pains and sores.
3. Used as decorating flower in Telangana State's Batukamma festival.
4. It is also used for gargles and tooth powders.
